Zambia is a landlocked country in southern Africa that receives between 2,000 to 3,000 hours of sunshine per year . Despite this, the country has been facing prolonged blackouts and an increase in energy poverty due to recent droughts that have led to a decline in hydropower production . According to USAID, approximately 69% of Zambia’s 17.35 million citizens suffer from energy poverty, with 96% of rural citizens lacking access to electricity. This has significant negative impacts on individual homes, affecting education, health, and even political participation. Furthermore, a lack of power in the home presents a barrier for remote work and remote education.
To help combat this issue, we are launching a crowdfunding campaign to provide solar kits to 1000 Zambian residents suffering from epileptic power supply. These solar kits will include solar panels, batteries, and inverters, which will allow residents to generate and store their own electricity. With your contribution, we can bring reliable and sustainable energy to those in need.
Our goal is to raise $50,000 to purchase and distribute these solar kits. Each kit costs approximately $50, which includes the solar panel, battery, and inverter. We will work with local organizations to identify the 1000 residents who are most in need of these solar kits. Our team will then distribute the kits and provide training on how to install and maintain them.
By contributing to this campaign, you will be helping to improve the lives of 1000 Zambian residents.
